Explore Thoreau’s lifelong quest to be a better observer with Kate James, Executive Director of Concord Art. Join James for a gallery talk in the Concord Museum exhibition This Ever New Self: Thoreau and His Journal for her perspective on Thoreau as observer, his potential as a 19th century performance artist, and learn what he can teach us today about slowing down to really see the world around us.
Throughout 2017, Concord is celebrating the 200th anniversary of the birth of writer and thinker Henry Thoreau (1817-1862). Accordingly, the Concord Museum along with program partners, have developed a year-long initiative for 2017, “Be Thoreau,” which encourages us to explore the writer’s work from a historical and contemporary perspective.
This event will take place at the Concord Museum. Free with Museum admission; Concord Museum and Concord Art Members Free.
