Join Thoreau Society’s in-house historian, Richard Smith, for a 90-minute tour of Concord Center as you visit some of the places that Thoreau knew so well. You’ll see some of the places where he and his family lived; the site of the Concord jail where he spent the night in 1846; the Town Hall where he sometimes lectured and, finally, the Thoreau family plot on Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.

Tour runs Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (90-minute duration). Meet your tour guide in front of the historical Colonial Inn, 48 Monument Square. Please try to arrive 15 minutes before the tour begins.

Consider making a reservation with your tour guide. Space is limited to 20 per tour.

The walking tour is rain or shine. Please dress appropriately for weather, and wear comfortable walking shoes.
