Nature Walk: From Forest to Salt Marsh

The Rowley Public Library and Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats will celebrate the Bicentennial of Henry David Thoreau’s birth with a free Nature Walk at Rough Meadows Wildlife Sanctuary on Saturday, October 14 from 1-3 pm. (Rain date October 28)

Join us as Lisa Hutchings and her team of Teacher Naturalists from Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats leads families on a guided nature path through a beautiful oak hickory forest into a breath-taking salt marsh for science activities. Best for ages 4 and up. Dress for the weather and wear footwear that can get muddy and damp. Cameras, scopes, and binoculars are optional. We will provide journals, handouts and refreshments.

Meet at the Rough Meadows Wildlife Sanctuary (Route 1A), Rowley MA. Free parking.  No restrooms are onsite. Plan in advance! Register by calling 978-948-2850. Walk-ins welcome.
