Professor Walls will offer a public lecture that is free and open to the public.

Laura Dassow Walls: Professor Walls’ new biography, Henry David Thoreau: A Life, will be published by the University of Chicago Press in July, 2017. Her lecture will mark the 200th anniversary year of Thoreau’s birth and will focus on Thoreau’s legacy today.  A recent recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship and research fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Council of Learned Societies, Professor Walls is the William P. and Hazel B.
