Come grab a cup of coffee (or water, if you want to live a simpler life), and join us for a reading of various words by the great New England mystic and prophet, Henry David Thoreau, in honor of his 200 birthday. You can either listen or participate; in addition to pre-assigned readings from Thoreau, we will have quotes and short excerpts available for anyone to jump in and read. In addition to “Walden,” readings will include excerpts from such diverse Thoreau writings as “Civil Disobedience,” “A Plea for Captain John Brown,” “Walking,” “Cape Cod,” and more.
